From my personal experience, the here in the USA they do things Inpersonal, which means they follow inpersonal procedures. Personal procedures are not common here in the USA. Good luck..

undefinedHi everyone,

in June, after I came back from a 6 month trip abroad I got a job for a confidential anti terror project run by DHS. A director I work with wrote a letter to a director in NSC to expedite my I-485 and nothing happened yet. Do you think they disregard letters even from their own people? It does not seem it helped so far. Should I expect them to act on it?

If the project were indeed "confidential" please do not disseminate anything about that project in a chat board for the whole world to see. Even disclosing the project's existence compromises its "confidential" nature. That could make you liable for criminal or civil punishments. I would delete your post ASAP.

I agree. If the project is still in existance, then mentioning its mere existance can be cause for a criniminal or civil penalties. Be careful and watch your back...

wantmygcnow: The laws are made by people. You are operation on from the point of view that only US citizens can work for the government, but those guys who make the laws have the power to bypass some laws. Also, the fact that the guy is not a US citizen and doing work for the government is revealing confidential information. So it is advisable that the guy keep his information confidential.

but guys!

i did not reveal any information here. and WMGCN is right. it's probably not possible to work on a secret project unless a citizen. and I never wrote it was secret, I wrote it was confidential.
wantmyGCN, could you delete this thread altogether. it's of no use. I made a mistake posting this in the first place. thanks

Just out of curiousity: what is the difference between secret and confidential...

ah!:)

well, if we follow the logic WMGCN expressed and which is that no non-citizen can work on a secret project, there must be a difference between secret and confidential. I am a non-citizen and I am working on a confidential project. But sine I am not a citizen the project could not be secret.!:) only confidential:)I guess:)
