work for 'N' number of employers on EAD??

Hi friends,

I a have question that, can we work for multiple employers on EAD?? including current employer.

If so what is the procedure.

Thank you very much in advance.

Yes you can. No procedure involved. Just file I-9 using EAD everywhere. At least one job has to be permanent, fulltime and be the job that is related to the reason for GC.

Adding to Jaxens:
and that 1 job must be the one with the same employer through whom you filed the I-485, unless you are past 180 days since filing and used AC21

Thank you very much for your reply.

I have another question about EAD and H1.

My current employer is saying that I am going to continue on my H1 with them, whenever the H1 expires then they are going to file for H1 extension, but not going to work on EAD for them.

Is this OK, if so what about the AC21 rule.
To evoke AC21 rule, do I have to work on EAD before evoking AC21 rule ?!?!

Is this OK to work on both H1 and EAD at the same time. H1 job is with current employer and EAD jobs are part-time jobs with different employers.

Does it effect any thing to evoke AC21 rule?!?!?

I am totally confused, please reply me as early as posible.

Again thank you very much for all of you.

THK

You cannot use EAD and H1 at the same time for different employers. Using EAD will invalidate H1.

You can use EAD to work for multiple employers, including current employer.

Your current employer cannot stop you from using EAD. You can unilaterally inform them of your decision to do so. If your EAD expires you cannot work till you have a valid renewal EAD.

You can 'evoke' AC21 by leaving your current employer and joining another one (with the same job desc as in LC) using your EAD.

Thank you

Thank you very much for your reply.

I will check with my employer and lawer.

Guys

I have EAD and worked part time. Can I just show that an extra income when I file my returns? or do I need 1099 etc?

The place I worked part time did not asked for I-9 , Is it required?

Please reply
