what are ur case details? from which country are you? what did u do to try to clear ur name? did u contact anybody?

EB1, I485 RD Dec. 2002, ND Jan. 2003. I140 approved 2004.
FP 1st: year 2003, 2nd: year 2004. From China.
I contacted several lawyers at Boston area. However I am not sure if
they are trustful. So I need second opinion, especially some successful
examples. Thanks.

but why u wAited so long? why u didn't file a WOM long time ago? it is strange that u accepted to wiat so long for nothin. did u contact ur senator or fbi or somebody?

I just noticed that I have such option. I contacted congressman
last year. It was said FBI name check pending. There is no way
he can help. I tried to send email to FBI last year every two months.
No response. I tried to call USCIS. Then after 2 or more months,
they replied with that asked me to wait for another 6(?) months.
After 6 months, I called again. It seems endless. Last two or three
weeks, I just found that WOM seems my only option.

well u should have inquired about that long time before. anyways now what happened happened. u can file WOM pro se by urself no need for a lawyer. it cost like 400 $. the lawyer may ask u for another 2000 or so $.

how common is ur name and family name? good luck

I was thinking filing by myself. However not sure how to do that. Any information
or example files can be used? Thanks.

I do not think it is very popular name in China.

what about ur family name? is it common? and middle name?

look for some links onloine they have examples. actually wekepedia has a link about namecheck in which they give examples about WOM cases.

I think you should file WOM earlier.
It is not a difficult thing, you can file PRO SE. Pls see this link, there is enough information.

But the bad news is that USCIS just changed their policy, WOM would not be the reason for expedited processing. So the things are getting difficult, but I think it is still worth to try.

where did u read that WOM wouldn't expedite processing? can u tell me about the link? this is a big problem.

It is in the thread I mentioned and in one of Chinese lawyer's webpage.
Also I talked my AUSA last Friday and she mentioned this. I think couple of people talked to their AUSA and got the same information.

Have you tried this one?

My immigration lawyer gave me the firm name Kaplan, O'Sullivan & Friedman.
Their phone is 617-482-4500. I have not contacted them so I have no clue how much they charge.

I am also considering filing WOM in Boston however I need to wait a bit to build a stronger case.

Please keep us posted regarding your case.

This NC problem has got to change. It is pure aste of time and money.
