Within how long can some one travel after F2 Stamping

Hi,
Is there any timeline within which some one should travel after getting an F2 Visa. I am applying for F2 Visa for my wife along with me. Can she travel after 1 year? Or there is a date before which travel should be commenced?
Is there anything called "validity of i20"?
Please help

there is a validity period for visas which will be indicated on her visa itself. Until that date she needs to enter the US, or she will simply lose the visa.
