withdraw h1 application

My company filed for my H1 extension in Oct.2006 (old h1 valid until end of Dec). In the meantime, I received my I-485 approval in Nov.2006. My dependents got 485 approved.

My question is - does my company need to withdraw H1 extension (and H4 for my family)? The company lawyer says do not withdraw. The status will be automatically adjusted. I am not sure if the lawyer is correct.
