I am waiting for my plastic card and I have approval notice.
For coming Tax report and short trip to out of US, I am planning to get stamp on my passport. And also I want to check my approval notice is real with INS Office. Here are several questions to make myself clear.

Q0) I have NO notice to get Stamp from USCIS. I think I don't need to take interview(EB2+PhD). Can I make appointment to get Stamp without Noitce through INFOPASS?
Q1) Is Stamp same function as plastic card?
Q2) Can I use Stamp on passport to get SSN for my dependents?
Q3) Can I get second job with this Stamp?
Q4) Can my wife get a Job as permanent resident?
Q5) Is it safe to take a trip to out of US with Stamp instead of plastic card?
Q6) Is there anything else I need for trip except Passport with Stamp?

You can certainly try, but most local offices don't give out the stamp.

Q1) Is Stamp same function as plastic card?
Q2) Can I use Stamp on passport to get SSN for my dependents?
Q3) Can I get second job with this Stamp?
Q4) Can my wife get a Job as permanent resident?

1. Yes.
2. No. They need to establish eligibility for an SSN on their own.
3. Yes.
4. Yes, but that has nothing to do with your stamp.
5. Yes, it's safe. Expect a delay on re-entry, though.
6. No.

Q2 & Q4) Do your dependents have PR approved? They need to file in separate applications. Did you/they file for it. If you become PR your spouse/dependents do not become PR automatically.
Q5) Not sure, some countries/airlines might not accept stamp as a valid visa while returning back to US during boarding. You might then need to get a transportation letter from US consulate. At POE you will be taken to secondary inspection (just formality)

Thanks " TheRealCanadian and rpranesh"

My dependents are approved their I485 on same date as mine.

Regarding to "TheRealCanadian"'s answer 4, [Yes, but that has nothing to do with your stamp], could you guys or others explain more detail? At this moment, Stamp is the only way when she can show them(She has EAD, but it is no longer used because she become PR).

And additional questions
1) Do I need to report Tax as PR(approved on 12/19/06) even though I do not have Card and my dependents have no SSN(they have Tax ID) or non-immigrant as before?
2) Do I need to report to USCIS when I get second Job(may be consultant or part time)?

Sure, but she shows her stamped passport, not yours.

Absolutely as a resident. There is plenty of time before April 15th for them to get an SSN, and even if you didn't get approved you'd still meet SPT and file as a resident. Unless you were on an F/J, you should have been filing as a resident the entire time.

2) Do I need to report to USCIS when I get second Job(may be consultant or part time)?

No.

Definition of Stamp

Thanks TheRealCanadian,

By the way, what's the stand for SPT?
What's does "Stamp on Passport" really mean? I mean is it I.D. to show I am PR? Is it same as PR Card?

Substantial Presence Test; it's a tax term. Google it for more information. By and large if you spend over 183 days in the US in a year or some combination of the previous three (based on a formula) you are considered a tax resident.

Yes.

The stamp says "Processed for evidence of permanent residence" and has a bunch of handwriting around it, including your WAC#, A#, expiry date, etc. It has the same value as a Permanent Resident Card, meaning you can show it to the DMV, airlines, POE officer, etc.

As for secondary inspection at the POE with a stamp, it is not a definite. I traveled on my stamp and did not get referred to secondary inspection, while I know of others who did.

The stamp is exceptionally amateur looking - there is nothing official looking about it. You could probably fashion one from a rubber stamp kit from Staples... that is why secondary inspections happen, because there was a period of time where forged stamps were quite common (according to my attorney a few years back).
