With H1 Approval Notice Can I travel outside US?

I am currently on L1. My L1 is expiring this June and I have an extension approval notice till December this year. Meanwhile, my L1 max out is nearing this december and my Green Card is in progress, my company has also got a H1 for me from October this year. On the passport, my stamping is only till June..
With this as the situation, can I travel outside of US and then come back again to US without any problems, just with my approval notice? I want to go to Canada to visit from friend during this July 4th independence day weekend. Is it possible?

Is your H1 is new one or change of status from L1. If it COS, you would have got I 94 at the bottom of H1 approval notice.

However if the visa in your passport got expired by the time you re-enter US, your entry will be denied at the POE.

You can get new visa on your pp at Canada or your home country by making prior appointment with respective consulate,
