Here is my scenario. My green card is based on future employment for a small company. Currently the company is financially struggling and going through some layoffs, in addition the owner has sold part of the company. The company is trying to place me on a project but due to the economic downturn, the company is struggling to actively find me an employment. While waiting for the small company I have used my EAD to work with a different company with similar job description. This is due to the fact, I wanted to continue an employment to pay my bills. My questions are:

1) What if the sponsoring company unable to provide employment. Will this affect my N400 citizenship application. What documents do I have get from the sponsoring company showing that he could not hire me as an employee?

2) In the forum I keep hearing that I have to be employed at least 6 months with the sponsoring company. What if this is not possible?

3) The current economic situation is forcing me to relocate to another state to find employment. Can I self document the financial and economic hardship during this time, for example news article and unemployment data to backup my situation.

I am basically asking what documents I have to gather so this will not become a major issue in 5 years when I am applying for my citizenship. Please provide some guidance. Thank you in advance for all the responses.

Did I get this right, buddy you don't even have a GC yet and you are worrying about Citizenship.
FYI Citizenship filing has nothing to do with being employed at all.

If you have another job that satisfies the AC21 "same or similar" criteria, and your I-485 is pending for more than 180 days and your I-140 is approved, you don't need to go back to the original sponsoring employer.
