All,

Anyone has received clarification on what the stoppage by USCIS means?

1. Does it mean there will be ABSOLUTELY no more approvals? According to WSJ this morning, about 140K approvals have been issued (not in the staging area or whatever) for the year, as indicated by USCIS, which is a bit unbelivable. I know we saw a lot of approvals last month, but not the months before.

2. Does it mean there will be more approvals as some people indicated that in the last of couple of weeks USCIS went to dig up all the cases that appear to be approvable and give those cases a visa number? Say 40K cases were approved and there are another 20-30K cases have been tagged for processing in the next three month (before Oct)?

I dont mean to be rude/cold, but I dont really care all the fuss about pending litigation. For us who have submitted apps a while back and still waiting for approvals, I was pretty upset initially as this flood of apps will only cause more troubles for existing apps.

Anyone has a better understanding than mine? Pls share.

SILVER LINING ON THE JULY VISA BULLETIN
July 4, 2007
Believe it or not there is a silver lining to the July Visa Bulletin....

Today we received a dozen approvals for persons whose visa numbers became current on July 1st.....
>>>

In a way, July Visa Bulletin did become effective for 1 second in July!

LOOKS LIKE FOLKS WHO BECAME CURRENT (AND ASSUMING NAMECHECK CLEARED - AILA DOUBTS THAT PART THOUGH) ON JULY 1ST ALREADY GOT THE VISA NUMBERS IN THE LAST WEEKS OF JUNE....AND THEY SHOULD BE EXPECTING APPROVALS IN THE NEXT 1-2 WEEKS...

EB visa numbers became unavailable until Oct 07, basically we should see no approvals for the month of July, Aug and Sept 07 for all pending EB applications. I guess we need to see how USCIS interprets the update EB visa numbers update from DOS?
