Will the hit and run cause the trouble?

My spouse is US citizen and we have filed the I130 I485 package for my GC already. When I filed for I485, I answered "no" to the question "have you been charged or convicted of any crime excluding traffic violations". However, I got a hit-and-run ticket and improper back the car ticket in an traffic accident in 2003. The prosecutor told me if I pledged the guilty, they will drop the hit-and-run ticket, because there is no major damage. I pledged the guilty and pay the court cost of $168 and no points was put on my license. My question is should I say "yes" when filled the I485? if this is the case, what should I do, I already get the I485 receipt from USCIS? Thanks for help.

Well, the question said "...excluding traffic violations" and you are talking about traffic...unless in your state that can be consider otherwise. Now, in the case that the officer ask you if you had a problem before about hit and run or sort of, you should explain the case. For your peace of mind, get your court papers (because they will ask for it if they do).

Were you arrested or fingerprinted?
If yes, you have to report with further explanations.

Thanks for the replay

I'm not arrested or fingerprinted. The court final judgement is to withhold hit and run ticket(not sure what does that mean) and no points was given.

I agreed with Cherr1980

At the inetrview, if the officer asked you, you should explain that you had a problem before about hit and run and take along with you all documents that you have regarding the case

Good luck

didnt they remove the charge so it isnt on your license anymore???? so you should be fine.... you made a deal and the hit and run charge was dropped... so it isnt in your file any more. besides it was a traffic violation, which doesnt count.
