Will my situation affect my eligibility for US citizenship?

Hey not too long ago I lost my green card and had it replaced, I thought I read somewhere that I wouldn't be eligible until 3 months after I recieved my green card, is that true?

Also, about a month ago I recieved a citation for fireworks, which is illegal and probably a misdemeanor in the state I live in, UT. Will this have an affect on the outcome of my eligibility? I basically showed up for court and paid a 200 dollar fine, and was never bugged about it again.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is simply not true.

You should be fine as long as you meet all other requirements. Make sure to get a copy of your court record for the interview.

Applying for a replacement GC does affect your naturalization timeline in any way.

Thank you very much Bob Smyth and Thoughtful.

Would not having a job affect anything? I mean I have one now, but by the time of the interview I will have to quit my job, and I have only started working for the past 4 months, no tax returns before, will I need to show them any tax return thingys?

Sorry, there's alot of things happening in my life, it's just one thing after another.

I'm grateful for any input.

Were you unemployed for most of the past 5 years? If yes, you may be expected to explain how you financially supported yourself during those years (whether it is spouse, savings, parents, disability payments, etc.). If you have huge lengths of unemployment, they may suspect that you were supporting yourself through criminal activity, so you should be prepared to show them otherwise.

There's no need to be employed during the interview to be approved. However, you will be required to answer and show why you didn't file tax returns.
How was your original GC obtained: Job or family sponsor?
