Will my mom get dual?

Hi all, I'm going to get my mom to apply for dual citizenship (her mother has both citizenships- born in the States; hasn't renounced her US citizenship). Can you listen to her situation and see if she'll get it, or perhaps give us some advice:
My mom is a Canadian citizen, born in 1955, father is Canadian, has never lived in the States. My grandmother didn't live in the States for 10 years before my mom was born, but has lived in the States for 6months of the year since 1993.

I have the application for my mom to fill out before the interview process: does she have a chance of getting dual (her younger brother of seven years applied for dual years ago and got it).

And, if she gets dual, can she sponser me? I am 22-years-old, unmarried, no dependents, and i have a bachelor degree in jouralism/pr (if that makes a difference).

Thanks!!

You need to state which memeber of your family is actually a legal permanent resident or United States citizen so that this question can be answered.

I thought I answered part of your question somewhere else or maybe I'm mistaken. You would be become a US citizen through the 1st category. If you can prove that your mother didn't know that she could become a US citizen until now then you could get retroactive citizenship. That would require some careful research and might require legal representation and appearance before an immigration judge. The visa bulletin gives the priority date of June 1, 2001. Vonsult with a lawyer if you plan on retroactive citizenship, otherwise have mum copy your uncle and then you can proceed under category 1 of family category.
