Can anyone provide some assistance with the following issue.
I have been sponsored by an IT Company to implement their software product in the US, under the L1B Visa category. My family and I arrived in the US at the end of December 2004, and I took upmy posting in January 2005. At the time of accepting this position, the agreed time away from my family conducting company business - was to be about 25%.
To date, I have been away from them for extended periods of time in another country, far in excess of the anticipated and agreed amount of time. In fact, I have been away from my family for almost 3 months, during the past 5 month period.
This situation is likely to continue for extended periods into the future, as the company has volunteered my services again for additional 3-6 month period overseas, with only a small number of return visits to see the family.
I find this situation totally unacceptable, and am very concerened with what might happen, if I refuse to continue on with this and other similar assignments in the future.
This situation places me at great emotional risk with regard to my families well being, and being able to effectively support them, whilst living in a foregin country with little friends or other emotional support.
What are my options with regarding leaving this company, or changing of my Visa status - without the risk of being deported or forced to leave the US.
Your advice or assitance would be very appreciated.
