Will I have any problems in naturalization or greencard renewal?

Hi All,

My employment based I-140 was approved this year 15 days after I left my greencard sponsoring employer. My H1-B status was maintained during the entire procedure. I-140 and I-485 were filed simultaneously and I-485 was pending more than 180 days before receiving I-140 approval.

Here is the timeline:
1. Aug 30, 2005 left the sponsoring employer because of layoff. I got a last paycheck from them on Sept 2, 2005 and prorated bonus on Sept 15, 2005. So I believe I was on their payroll till Sept 15, 2005.
2. Joined new employer on Aug 30, 2005.
3. I-140 filed by sponsoring employer approved on Sept 15. RFE to I-485 regarding birth certificate was also received along with approved I-140.
4. New employer sent AC-21 rule usage letter to USCIS on Oct 7, 2005. RFE to I-485 (birth certificate related) was also replied to on the same date. Those two letters were mailed separately on the same date.
5. I-485 approved on Oct 25 2005.
6. Got I-551 stamping on Nov 21, 2005.

My question is:
1. Will I have any problems in renewing my greencard?
2. Do you anticipate any issues in my US citizenship based on the situation above?

I spoke to 2-3 lawyers before going for I-551 stamping. I got different answers. Finally I decided to follow my company's attorney advice. I don't trust his answer fully though. Any insights will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks Joe, Whats bothering me is my I-140 was approved 15 days after I left the greencard sponsoring employer.

You mean to say that should not be a problem?

Its because my friends told me that I-140 must be approved before leaving the green card sponsoring employer.. It that also true?

Thanks,

I was going thru the I-485 RFE I received along with the I-140 approval letter.. at the bottom of the 2nd page of the RFE it says following:

CSC14150/WSXXXXX/DIV IV/08/30/05

Does this mean that the decision to send the RFE was made on 08/30/05?? I am not sure if you anybody has seen it closely but just wondering..

I am curious about it because I-140 and I-485 were supposed to be adjudicated at the same time. If the decision to send RFE was made on 08/30/05, then I-140 must have been processed on the same date.

Any guess?

Thanks,
