I am a Canadian Citizen. I was in Las Vegas earlier this year and was given a Promise to Appear citation for a misdemeanor battery charge. I hired a criminal defense lawyer in Las Vegas that was able to get my charges dismissed.
Now, I want to enter the US again. Will I be allowed entry, or will they look at my charge, even though it was dismissed, and not allow me to enter. If i bring a copy of my court papers saying it was dismissed would it help?
I contacted US Border Services, and they said I may be allowed to enter, but it will be up to the Boarder Officer to make the final decision.
Should I just get the Visa just to make sure. I don't want to make expensive travel plans and then not be allowed entry.
