In case my H1b gets rejected in India will my h4 be still valid or will that be cancelled too by the visa officer in the consulate?

I had applied for H1b when i was in India and my I797 shows I have to get it stamped from India. So it is not a status change from h4 to h1b.
Kindly clarify if I go to India for H1 stamping, in the worst case of my H1b being rejected, will the visa officer also cancel my H4 visa(which I have till Dec 31st 2006)
----------------If you are eligible for H4 why they will cancell H4 visa stamp? if they stamp H1 then they may cancell H4 visa stamp
