Will going to local INS office for getting FP notice help ?

Hi friends, I have been on I-485 for 110 days already and have not received the FP notice. I spoke to my lawyer but he is willing to send a fax request to INS for my FP Notice only after I complete 180 days on my I-485. I wanted to find out if I can go to the Local INS office ( i.e. Monterey Road, San Jose ) upon completing 120 days on my I-485 and get a FP notification from them. Any response is greatly appreciated. Would like to know if anyone has done something similar.

Hi Trouble Maker,

Have patience, you might get FP notice before you complete your 120 days of I-485. If you do not get it after 120 days try to convince
your attorney to send a fax to INS requesting FP.
The San Jose INS office may not accept your request for FP notice
and also it may not be possible for them to generate the original
( the 1st) FP notice. However, it is worth trying if your attorney agrees and if you have atleast 3-4 hours to stand in the line.
