Will existing H1 visa be cancelled?

Dear Friends,
I have a valid H1 visa till 2007 march Stamped in passport with my earlier company and recently I transferred to new company and the H1 was approved. Now I plan to visit India and was wondering if I go to India/Canada for stamping and if they are not stamping it, then - would the earlier visa which is valid till march 2007 be cancelled, making it impossible for me to return, unless I go to India from canada for stamping. My doubt pertains to if for some reason the consulate doesn't want to stamp the new H1 visa on the passport, then would I be eligible to re-enter the US based on the earlier stamped visa which is valid till march 2007( would this stamped visa be cancelled owing to the fact that I had appeared for a new visa stamping interview)
I had a lower W-2 this year compared to my H1 petition and that was because I was out on bench for 3 months.
I appreciate and thank you in advance for your suggestions.

You have Valid Visa stamp till March 2007( it does not matter if through A or B) when you come back Before March 2007 to US you can enter with that visa stamp at POE show your valid visa stamp AND H1 approval notice through new company you will get I-94 till New H1 approval notice.

my question in the request for info was " would the earlier visa which is stamped in the passport be cancelled if I go for stamping with the new H1 approval and it is not stamped"
Thank you.

Yes, there are very good chances of getting the visa cancelled once you go for stamping. I heard some consulates do not do that, but don't count on that chances of cancelling previous visas are very high. It happened to me, they cancelled all my previous visas and gave me new one.
