Will consulate look for other document/s?

I have my H1B approved and am planning to attend a meeting at Hong Kong. Since my job is going to be a postdoc, but by the time I apply for visa stamping I am unlikely to get my doctoral certificate, do you think that the officer will look for other document to have my visa stamping approved, e.g., my Master's certificate from a US college?

confusing Question...

Do you mean you are going to get the stamp at Hong Kong and you want to use your master's degree certificate instead of the doctor's degree certificate?
Since the job description is postdoc, you need some proof of Doctoral degree completion - a provisional certificate maybe. Other degree certificates are also required at the time of stamping.

Master's certificate instead of Doctor's certificate, plus others

You're right, I am wondering if the officer will accept my Master's degree certificate instead of a Doctor's degree certificate. In addition to this, all the course works that are needed for my doctor's degree have been completed and will be shown in my school's transcript, so I am planning to also show this to the officer. Do you think they will buy it? If not, what other document/s will be needed?

For your information, the original documents that were sent to INS for my H1B petition included a letter from our department's associate dean stating that I am close to finish my doctoral degree and that I have completed all necessary course works.
