One of my friend just filed I-485 last month. He had been suited by someone,
and filed bankruptcy a few years ago. Will these effect his I-485 outcome?
Please reply if your have knowledge on the issue. My friend is very anxious.
Thank you in advance!

Is he/she employment based? If so, bankruptcy does not affect I-485 as long he/she has a good income currently (complying with LC specification, if it is EB2 or EB3) and can support his/her immediate derivatives.

If it is criminal, it may have an effect. I do not think bankruptcy will affect I-485 application but affects credit card/loan application. You should contact competent lawyer.

If someone sued your friend in civil court (or small claim court) because your friend owes money to that person and then court orders him to pay back, that's not crime. In fact if your friend unable to pay him back, bankruptcy is the proper and legal way to come out from that kind of situation. It should not affect his I-485.

If your friend was convicted in court in criminal activity and then after that due to some reason filed backruptcy, that's a different issue. In that case crime and backruptcy are not connected at all.
