I am a Malaysian citizen who was a foreign student on an F1 visa in the United States between 1997 and 2002. I accumulated credit card debts totaling approximately $10,000 which are still on my credit report and which now includes several liens. Will my application for a new B2 visa be rejected ? I am attempting to pay off the debts but it is a slow process due to my financial situation. Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thank you.

That all depends if this has gone beyond collection agencies. If any law enforcement agency now has your information and is looking for you, this may become an issue. Just curious, who is financing this B-2 trip of yours?
