As per online bcis my wife's ead is approved 2 days back. But the AP is not yet approved. Any idea how long it takes for AP approval ?

Thanks

AP took little longer that EAD in my case, every time.... 3 times.

But if it takes more than a month, then there is a probability of RFE on AP. I hope your wife will get her AP soon. Is she secondary applicant?

Nope. In my husband's case, he got RFE on his 3rd AP. It was the stupid mistake USCIS made while spelling his name. And then asked query why he changed his name in RFE. This was done when his FP was expired.

Now, he got RFE on 485 case, in the RFE letter, they have mentioned that he should advice them for second FP notice if his FP is expired.........another stupid suggestion made by USCIS. Because if I think logically, his FP should never expire. And if it does, then another point is how do we know the exact period of expiration of FP according to USCIS.

I guess, we got a stupid stupid officer.

FPs expire in 15 months.

It "expires" inasmuch that CIS does not store your FP -- your FP is collected and the results are stored ... the validity of the results (FP check) is only 15 mo.

I think there are some privacy concerns with storing and rechecking FPs automatically ...

I know the answer.....because I read this forum. But USCIS do not send the letter stating the validity of your FP.....so, how the hell an applicant will know about if CIS stores it for 1 month or 15 or 20? These are USCIS rules... they should know better not applicant.

My point was how stupid of USCIS to ask applicant to advice them for FP if current one is expired.
Next thing they will ask is "advice USCIS for RFE if you feel that your file is not complete. :D "

There are enough of them out there. They issue the FPs and they should track it.
They issue the H1s and they should be having records with them. There is another word for it..INEFFICIENCY..

Does it mean AP is approved ?

Just now I received 2 emails with the following message.

Does the following message mean approval...

Application Type: I131, APPLICATION FOR BCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT
Current Status:
On October 6, 2004, the document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued.

Thanks as always.
