Folks,
My wife\'s middle name is missing one character in FP notice. How can I get it corrected?? Can I get it corrected at the time of FP?? Please Advise.

Thanks and Regards

Doesn\'t matter but It does matter for EAD, Advance parole and actual GC.

All the above documents can be rectified at local INS centre.

first thing, call INS to have them correct it in their database. secondly,

when you do the FP, the officer will type in your # or whatever, your data will come up, and you can ask him to correct it right way. It is easy.

You can correct it..

my experience..
My last name spelled wrong in I-140 and carried over to FP notice..
I made a note with Officer while doing FP..
I got GC approval letter with wrong last name.
But I corrected it while doing Passport stamping..
I got my plastic Card with Correct name.

So do not worry..

It is possible to correct it.

Best is to apply for correction when you go for stamping. In our case both mine and my wife\'s first name has got 3 parts. So the name has been mentioned in the documents as last name + first name + one initial for other two parts of first name. I asked the lawyer. He said we can correct it when either INS issues RFE or at the time of stamping.

You can get it corrected during FP

They go by only your A# and EAC# . So FP is no problem. However you shoudl contact INS thru your lawyer to correct the name. My address was incorrect during FP. So the officer at FP location corrected ir right away. In my observation here nobody cares how your name is spelt but key numbers like SSN, EAC#, A# etc are important.

Thanks a lot guys for your reply

Thanks folks for your replies. It is a great help to me.

Thanks and regards
