I have a weird case. My wife got an RFE for her EAD requiring new photos. This was issues on 20th of August. I sent the photos to lawyer. May be by september first week INS should have received it. My lawyer says he has proof that INS received it. But the Automated message never changed. I came under impression that INS will not update the message at 100% of the time. She has not got her EAD yet. Still the message says "we mailed an RFE on August 20th.. blah.. blah..". Even if it is rejected because of RFE is 3 months old they could have changed the message. Am I missing anything here. Does anyone know how long it takes to get an EAD from VSC? Can I get a interim EAD from local offices? Thanks for any info.

Note sure why FP is dependent on EAD;
My EAD Receipt date is July 26; Notice Date is Sep 18; INS asked for photos on Sep 28 (RFE date); Photos mailed on Oct 07. AVM was updated to reflect receipt of the photographs on Oct 24; Daughter (6 yrs) received EAD on Nov 02! Self and Wife waiting for EAD since; The AVM stills says \'Our request for more information was received on Oct 24... This type of case normally takes 60 - 90 days; However because preliminary processing may have been completed, this case may take... 90 days\'!

Somewhat similar happened to me. Me and my wife applied together for 485/EAD/AP. Both got AP. My wife got EAD. I got RFE for photots for EAD. There was no reason for asking the RFE/Photos. I guess they might have simply lost them. I sent the RFE soon thru attorney and the AVM says they received. Donot wait too long as they may consider you are not interested in EAD and abandon your application.
