Wife on EAD and H1B

I know this is not an EAD forum but I am sure lot of us have EAD and this is more frequently visited forum and so I am posting this question here.

Situation -

My wife has both H1B and EAD. (I was the primary applicant). She wants to work part time for an employer who does not sponsor H1B.

Question - Can she work on EAD on 2nd job while maintain her original H1B? If not can she give up H1B now, work on EAD and then later switch back to H1B at some point?

Your wife need to work in EAD. She can switch back to H-1B later, but I think, she will be subject to Quota limits. Experts on this matter please add here.

She can work part time using EAD while maintaining full time employment with the H1 sponsor. Else, she can work full time with the other employer using EAD and later switch back to H1 for the remainder of her 6 yr limit. She would not be subjected to H1B quota.
 
As much as i have gathered over the past few years. Getting a job on EAD will violate her authorization as H1. Plus, it is also debatable of using EAD and then coming back to H1. It because using EAD you are showing "intent to immigrate" and that will be grounds of dismissal of H1 later. Experts please verify.
