Wife Name change question

Hi,
My wife has her maiden name on her pasport and H4 visa. Recently my company applied for H1 for her, on her maiden name, and this was approved. Now we want to change her name in her passport to my surname (spouse last name). My question is will this cause any issues for her, as both her H4 and now I-797 will be under her maiden name, but passport will be under new surname ? Are there any advantages of letting her continue with her maiden name ?

We want to do the name change before we apply for her SSN. Please advice.

Some have changed surname in the passport and have got SSN with jsut that. However the process has become stringent and since they do a check with INS, the SSN might be refused.
So if you want the SSN in surname, you need to file a H4 again with proof that the surname has changed in passport.
