Wife immigrant petition ... Tax returns transcripts question

Hi

I am providing supporting documents for the wife immigrant petition. In the sponsorship document it requires
perhaps 2 - 3 years prior tax returns to be provided. Would tax transcript copies from IRS be sufficient or is it advisable
to actually provide the copies of the entire tax returns?

Where does it say "it requires perhaps 2 - 3 years prior tax returns to be provided"? The current I-864 says only the last year's tax return is needed.

Tax transcripts from the IRS are preferred to the returns. If you send copies of your returns, you'll also have to send W2 and 1099 (whichever is applicable to you) for each return.
