wife from H4 to EAD, does passport need to be stamped?

Hello all,
My wife came to US on H4 visa (dependent on my H1B visa) later on we both received our EAD cards and AP.
I am still working on the same H1 B visa, but she got a job in February 2008 and is now working on her EAD.
We plan to go to India sometime this year, does she need to get her passport stamped (she has H4 visa stamped on her passport right now) ? She will be using her AP to re-enter US.

Can someone help give some advice,

If she's using AP to re-enter, she doesn't need any visa stamp in her passport.

One question on same basis kinda,
I am getting my H1B renewed before going to India, (with same employer). So do i have to get my passport stamped.
Can i just use my AP to re-enter and avoid the stamping process (I will carry original 797)

Yes. The Cronin Memorandum covers your situation. I'd try and get the stamp anyways, but use this as a fallback.
