Wife entered B2 Visa

Hi...

I just recently got USC in July 09... What a relief...

Anyways... During the summer I got married abroad (when I was still PR) and she came with me to the US. (interview letter had arrived while I was out of the country) She entered with a B2 6 month visa and three months have passed. I am trying to find a way to have her stay in the US and am trying to get her green card process started. My understanding is that it is almost impossible to get a AOS for people who entered with non-immigrant visa. Is this the case?

I had heard that many people get married "officially" in civil court in the US to get the process started here.

Your input will be very much appreciated.

you can file an I-130 & i-485 concurrently for her if you are an american citizen

Well if you dont have any official records (read Govt. issued certificate of some sort) then you might have to get married in the US "again" in a civil ceremony (in front of a judge). You will get a marriage certificate after that. Hope this helps.
