I filed my wife's I 485 petition in July 2003. INS sent her a letter at old address which was returned back. After inquiring about her case I found that her visa is on hold and I am thinking her GC is on hold because of this Retrogression that I was not aware of. She has an EB3 category. I received my green card 6 months ago.
questions.
When can I expect her to get a GC.
Is there anything that can be done to expedite it for her as I have already received mine.

the letter was about???????????

dates???????????? and detail plz

if u r principal appl then help me out to und how come she falls on retrogess and not u at that time.

Good Luck

Dear Prince of Jungle.
I applied for my I-485 in Oct 2002 and got married in Mar 2003 so I applied for my wifes I -485 in July 2003. I received my Green Card in Oct 2004 but haven't received my wife's green card yet. When we inquired from the INS office we found out that her GC is on hold but they couldn't give us a reason why. We also get a letter from INS saying " According to Dept of State Visa Bulletin, there is not a visa available for this classification"
I am not sure if her GC fell into retrgoression that is only my assumption but can anybody suggest based on this information what is going on over here and what can I do.

Harvinder, AFAIK you should be married before you can apply for your wife's
485.

Yes -- and he got married and then filed his wife's 485 -- so there is no problem.
Married 3/2003 and wife's 485 applied 7/2003)

harvinder: Unfortunately your wife's case is stuck in the current retro drama. If your PD is before the Oct cutoffs (unlikely), she can get her GC in Oct.
Currently EB3 is unavailable worldwide and its not that much better for Oct (as you would've read everywhere by now).

Since the 2 485s were filed separately, there is no real connection -- it can so happen that one gets cleared and the other doesn't.
In your case, EB3 was current in Oct 2004 and that's why you got it approved.

The long wait continues .........
