i did my marriage based n-400 interview 4 months ago.
i was waiting for the oath cermony letter, instead I received a letter asking my wife for an interview with the same officer that interviewed me.
am getting woried what could it be,
please advice

They want to ask your US wife questions to verify if you have a bona fide marital union. Was there anything in your application that would raise questions such as previous marriages or period of not living together?
Also, it sounds like they are deliberately trying to delay your application as they are supposed to adjudicate your application within 120 days of your interview.

It looks like they're doubting the legitimacy of your marriage.
Would you mind sharing more details?

It seems like there is extra scrutiny when it comes to 3yr applications, if something doesn't look rite get ready to show boat loads of proofs....joint bank statements, taxes, utility bills etc.

in that letter they didn't ask her for any papers.
plus I already sent all these papers before my interview, I mean tax and bank account etc

If your marriage is legit, then you don't have to fear anything.
Is there a big age difference? Cultural difference? Do you live in difference places?
Having kids is not a prerequisite at all!
Just bring as many docs as you can, doesn't hurt.

May 25th,2009, you posted the message:

"Applying for I-485 after I-130 appoval.

I got the approval for the I-130 through marriage petetion. Now ready to apply for the I-485. My question is:
How long it would take for processing to get the green card ( I live in Detroit, and probably the application will be sent to nebraska). "

How you were able to file for N400 so early?

almost same age am 3 years older,
live together , but I put mail box address as mailing address in n-400 application

so what could happen at the interview

Afaneh,

No one on this discussion forum can predict what is going to happen at the interview with your wife. I see an issue with you using a mailbox as opposed to what almost 99.5% of applicants for immigration use, their home address where they receive their regular mail. It is possible there is a discrepancy on the addresses on all the evidence which you submitted. For example, your gas bill might be coming to your apt, so it your Verizon phone bill, bank statement. However, your immigration paperwork is going to a mail box? This is where the IO might have questions and wonder if your wife is living somewhere and you are living somewhere, you just happen to have evidences of cohabitations. Your wife doesn't need a lawyer to go to the interview, she will be fine as long as you go with her to the interview, so that the IO who comes to call her, can see that both you two are still happy, still childless but continuing to build strong marriage for the sake of future children which you might have in years to come. Not having children shouldn't be a problem at all, because if you aren't ready, you can't be forced by immigration to bake a child in your wife's oven.. Panicking has never been a man's trait, so don't be the first man to panic and disappoint all of us...:D

ok perfect , u think lawyer is good idea ? she's kina paranoid.
Is it more than 120 days since the first interview? If yes, they have no more right to demand another interview of you or your wife. You can refuse the next interview get a lawyer to a file 1447(b) lawsuit. That way either USCIS has to decide the case quickly based on evidence they already have, or the court will have the right to take over the case and have a judge make the decision.

Al, I don't think using a P.O. box for N-400 processing is a big deal. The physical address is what matters, and I believe the OP's wife lives at the physical address that he put on N-400.

I think quite a few people use PO box for some important stuff like N-400. My wife and I used a PO box for our citizenship process, and it was a big thrill to open the box and see something inside because we instantaneously knew it was from the USCIS :)
