You should use the internet to seek advice and opinions.
You should use a lawyer to get factual answers.

Many of the answers you get on the internet are based on opinions and are absolutely wrong. An opinion is not fact.Just keep this in mind when getting advice here. Many answers you get here are correct. But its a mixed bag of correct and incorrect stuff.
I used the questions and answers here on this site as a basis to ask my lawyer further questions.

I went through the whole process using a lawyer to do everything.Although i had concerns and worries from reading stuff on the internet my lawyer assured me with factual answers not opinions.

If you have any doubts or worries you really should not risk such an important issue to opinions you find on the internet.
If i had not used a lawyer i would have been stressed out all the time and i probably would have nade numerous mistakes on the application-either providing too much info or too little.

For me it was definitely worth using a lawyer and not having to deal with headaches.

To each his own. You are entitled to your opinion and what made you comfortable. It is an individual choice. Others are entitled to their opinion and choices. Its a free country.

There are hundreds of people who used lawyers and got denied. There is no magic bullet.

Congrats!

I think it depends on the comfort level of each person. I did all the paperwork for my first GC, then removed the conditions by myself, got the GC renewal done by myself, then got the citizenship process done all by myself. And now I am just finishing up the GC process for my wife. I think it depends how much time and effort you want to put into the process. The forms are pretty self explanatory and if you follow them correctly and have a checklist you can do almost everything by yourself.

My philosophy throughout the whole process was if I mess up they will send an RFE notice and we will go from there.

Honestly not everything here is based on opinion, a lot of people here have gone through the process already so they speak from firsthand experience, or they had a lawyer and speak based on what their lawyer told them. Some others did the process through lawyers who made many mistakes with their cases. So each case is different. If a person's case is straightforward they can go through this process without the use of a lawyer by following the instructions on the forms and asking questions on this forum for certain things that are not major. A person with a difficult case has always been advised here on this forum to find a good lawyer for that person's case. I myself went through this process without the use of a lawyer, and did perfectly well, received 1 RFE because of a taxpaper that they asked for that I had filed anyhow, and I did not need a lawyer to tell me which tax paper to send.
Just my 10cents. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, such as yours, and this one is mine.
