Sending letter to president/omdusman may not bring the immediate relief.
The most important action to be taken now, is to lobby strongly the conference committee. Any other effort will not bring any immediate results. This budget reconcilation bill is very important for Bush adminstration. Whether 8001 included in final verson of the bdget bill or not, the budget bill will become a law with in two months. If it (8001 of S.1932) is included in the final bill, the Jan 2006 visa bulliton will have letter "C" in all employment visa catagory. The benefits wiil be just with in two months.
So, Section 8001 of S.1932 is the key. Therefore, once conference committee is formed, we must bombard with thousands of strong letters to each member of the commitee explaining all the issues and severe retrogression in employment based immigrant visa. We must explain that, as on today, even NObel prize winner cannot apply permanant residence to U.S if they born in IN or CH.
Also we should be bold and we must say in this letter that, we, the legal-immigrants strongly oppose in inceasing any immgration fee(L1, H1 or 140 fee incrase), unless the some benefites are ensured. Without any visa number relief, we oppse any move to increase the fees for any immigration benefits.
White house is not also against visa number relief provisions in the budget bill, based on their comment on S1932 and HR4241. This is a good sign too.
