Why they are offering me another GC?

Yesterday after going home when I checked my mails, I found a letter from USCIS. It was to my maiden name so I was sure that its not about my citizenship case.
I opened it and it was a Welcome Notice :eek: :eek:
Yes, a Welcome Notice stating that my GC will be arriving in 3 weeks.I was shocked. I immidiately called them. The representative couldn't answer my question and forwarded to Immigration Officer who also couldn't answer it either. She has told me to send it back to the service center with a letter.
She also confirm all information on my citizenship process so far.
BTW, it was from Texas Service Center.
Just wanted to let all of you know that anything could be happen with USCIS.
 
Maybe they think your 5 year as a PR starts only now!! hehe.. Just kidding..

Write a certified letter to the Service Center and ask for details!

PS: My husband need a GC if they have more of them to give away. :D

I have been following ur posts and my case is similar to yours.
I got some input regarding my name confusion from Rahul Kumar too.

Was the name on your green card different from the name you put on N400 application ?
I am guessing this from your post that
It was to my maiden name so I was sure that its not about my citizenship case

My interview is first week Feb 2005 from Dallas.
My problem is my GC has maiden name (Shetty Swati Ram), my N400 application has married name (Sen Swati Tejas) and my current DL has my married last name but my maiden father's name.( Sen Swati Ram)

If you want more details to understand this, I have posted another thread with the name " N400-different names on Green Card, Social and DL".

Can you please go through that thread and reply back with your experience of different names on GC , Driver's Lic. and N400 application....?

Yes, name on my application is different then name on my GC. I got my name changed fully(middle and last) on my SSN and my Passport but when I went to change it on my DL, they said they will use the name as on my GC. So they didn't change it at all. I was thinking to getting it changed on my GC but then it was almost time to apply for my CItizenship and you can change your name during this process so I didn't wanted to waste money. I submitted my marriage certificate with my application.
I am through my interview and she never asked anything about this mess. Only thing she asked me is how do I want my name now.
So don't worry.
I don't know my name check is done or not
