Why my case do not appear?

Hi all,

I hope someone of you can give me some light about this.

On January 2003 I submitted forms I-131, I-765 and I-485, and so far my I485 case does not appear in the automated on-line system, and I have not been called for fingerprints yet. In the other hand I already got second EAD and AP.

Noticing that USCIS is gaining speed, I am afraid of being left behind because lost paperwork or something similar.

Does anybody had the same situation?... any help?

I assume you have the receipt notice for your I-485 application. I would call the 800 number and see if they could find your case. Regarding to the FP, I know some people with 2002 receipt date have not received FP notice yet.

Rolando68,
Interesting, yet concerning situation you have.

If you have the I-485 receipt, then my guess is that there is a 99% chance that your case is ok, but I understand your concern that you cannot see the status online.

I would suggest that you call the 1-800 number. The first CSR wil probably not be able to help you or will try to get you to hang up. Ask to speak to a supervisor. The Superviser will suggest that you send a fax to TSC, for them to fix the online status. Insist that he send an internal fax to TSC. They will probably warn you that it could take a few months if they do it internally. Tell them that's ok, and you still want the internal fax sent from them to TSC, and the online status needs to be corrected.

If none of this works, send a fax to TSC by yourself, requesting that they correct your online status for your cases, include your receipt number(s), and your A#, if you know it.

I will do!

Thank you curiousGeorge and 485_FL for your advice!

I will call and try and will post any findings.

Update

After several months of having posted my question, I still haven't get my problem resolved. I already called the 1800 number and they promised they will send me a letter within 4 week (now is about 12 weeks overdue).

Also, I contacted the Congressmen office about 3 weeks ago and they told me that I should wait 6 weeks for an answer, and that this time they MUST reply.

In the other hand, yesterday we got our fingerprints taken.

I will keep you posted.

Rolando68, could you please let me know how did you get the FP? TSC issued the notice even though your case is not shown online or you requested for the FP? If TSC sent you the FP notice instead of you requested, then I should not worry about too much. Anyway, will appreciate if you could post your experience how you got your FP and if you requested for FP, then how did you do that? Thank you.

try making an infopass appointment and visiting the local office. Sometimes they can see more on their system than the 1-800 CSRs, but you might have to push them to get an answer, since the case is still in TSC. Bring the paper receipts you got if you have them. (Do you have them?) Worst case, you lose a day of work.

Waiting for Online Status

TSCBAD: I called my lawyer and expressed my concern; she call an immigration officer in California (I guess he is her buddy) and the officer said that my case is in their system and that I should not worry. About 5 week later, I went to visit my Congressmen office and as a coincidence I got the FP notice 1 day after. The FP process went normal.

curiousGeorge: Thank you for your advice! I will wait a month to see if after being FP our cases are shown online; if not, I will request an appointment.
