Wht will be my status

I\'m on h1b now, i\'m marrying a US citizen in this month end (July 27th), i got laid off now and my employer said he will hold my visa until this month end, should i apply for a new H1-b through a new employer or i dont have to, wht will be my status please help me, kind of screwed up at this moment, any kind of information is welcome.

If you can find a new company to do your H-1B transfer, that\'s the best. You don\'t lost work or income.
Or your US citizen spouse later filed I-130 and I-485+EAD for you, it\'s OK to be out-of-status for a month or two this way. The worst thing that could happen is the $1000 fine (when getting conditional GC for being a citizen\'s spouse.)
