Hi I got ref on may 24th and replied on june 25th, My lawyer got RFE.

Who will receive approval letter? me or my lawyer? or both?

my lawyer told both get approval letters is that true?

Actually i have to change apartment this august end. so there will be change of address so i am wondering who will receive the approval letter?

Thanks any input.

In my case I received a courtesy copy and my attorney received the actual approval. The courtesy copy says that this copy could not be used instead of the original. However, in this board people have posted that district offices have accepted the courtesy copy to get their passports stamped.

Just to avoid too many complications, you would be better off staying in your current address or holding your current address until you get your GC, IF YOU CAN. I have heard from this forumn a few people went through hell getting their approval notices to the wrong address etc. It becomes difficult to force USCIS to send a duplicate approval. Also keep your lawyer well informed so that IN CASE YOU HAVE TO MOVE AND HAVE NO CHOICE, you will get your original approval notice (which normally goes to the lawyers) mailed or fedex or UPSed to you properly.

In any case you will have to file for change of address because USCIS send the actual card directly to the applicant and not to the lawyer.

I have also seen from a few folks here who got approval that they mentioned the address change to the officer who did GC approval stamp on the passport and were told to fill up the correct address (to which card willbe mailed) in a form right there. So things might work out smoothly for you. But I would if I were you (provided you can hang on in your current address) wait till I have the card in my hand before moving.

USCIS cannot be trusted to make address changes promptly.

I DID NOT MEAN TO SCARE YOU, JUST PUT THE FACTS THAT I CAME TO KNOW FROM THIS FORUM.
