i recently got a job offer with a local county here in CA. I am very interested in pursuing the job. My lawyer believes this county is exempt from H1B cap, however he told me i have to find out if they sponsor and then we can work out the rest of the details. ( I am on OPT). I asked my interviewer if they sponsor and she reffered me to someone in their personell dept. When i asked personell about H1B...lady did not seem to know what i was talking about (or was unfamiliar with H1B). I am wondering who to talk to next. Has anyone ran into a similar situation? Or maybe someone can give me suggestions on what they would do. I am a little stumped i don't know which way to go.
