I want to know whether is it possible to take a servent with the DV winner (a family) when they travel to US for the first time after obtaining the GC.

madu,
depending on which country she is from she may need a visitor/tourist visa. but at this time and to the best of my knowledge, no work visas exist for servants/househelp. the existing non-immigrant visas are meant for professional employment, investors, traders, religious, diplomatic reasons. but if you do need maids/servants after you have settled down, you can employ here. majority of househelp here are from south america. but they are very expensive compared to asia. many times more expensive.

if i can remember correctly you are also current in aug, right? are you doing aos or cp?

A servent? Next some one wants to bring the nanny, the maid, etc...

Only husband or wife and legal children under 21!

If the child wins, only their children or husband or wife....

The rest can be sponsored after the winner becomes a citizen....which takes at least 6 years from winning the Dv lottery...(all time frames incl.), in case of a parent, for a brother or sister it can take 10 yrs or longer...

A servant!!!!!! lets see the embassy will approve your case or not, and then ask for your servent !!!!!

Shhh...take it easy !
Its just a 'cultural mis-understanding' which she/he will get later how it works in US.

That aside, there ARE US visas specific to SERVANTS !!

One is specific to Nannies (18-26 yrs of age) called J1 Au Pair visas (many French, UK and other EU girls come to US on this)

Other is for holders of A (diplomats) and P (professionals) visas who can apply for a servent as a A/P derivative.

GC holders can try the J1 route to help bring in a person of their choice. Other than that its not feasible per se. (indirect routes may be there, you may want to talk to an imm. lawyer)

But one thing to note.....the 'servant' concept IS prevalent in many US states/cities, at a very affordable price...eg. CA/LA and NY/NY, TX/HUS....after all it is not a 'strange' concept in US as some may think it is.

Definitely there are no provisions in DV-GC process for that purpose and don't even worry to ask the embassy abt it !!
