whis is faster AVM or Courtesy copy..?

Can some one please tell if the AVM is beeing updated regularly and accurately?
All those who recently got approved please respond how you got the approval news.. AVM or Courtesy mail or IIO ??
Mine is a september 2000 RD and have been checking AVM regularly that gives the message " Your I485 application have been received......bla bla.."

AVM - I think

I checked AVM on 8/2/01 and it stated that RFE was issued for my case on 8/1/01 - so it looks like AVM is updated daily.

Yeah.. that\'s what AVM is meant for. But I heard from other postings that they recieved their appoval notices before any updates to AVM. I think sometimes the AVM is screwd up or they just ignore to update in some cases.

AVM or courtesy letter

In my case, it is neither. My attorney received the approval notice for 485 in the mail yesterday (my case was approved 30 July). It is not yet updated in the AVM, nor have I received a courtesy copy.

   This is my experience with AVM,courtesy copy and IIO. You may please infer from this.

   REF :

      Called IIO on 07/10/01 (8:30AM) -- No Rfe under review
      Checked AVM on 07/11/01 (6:00PM) -- AVM said, RFE mailed on 07/10/01
      RFE received on 07/16/01

   Approval :
      Checked AVM on 08/01/01 (6:00PM) -- old message ( RFE mailed on ..)
      Called IIO on 08/02/01 (11:00AM) -- Approved on 07/27/01
      Checked AVM same day evening (6:00PM) -- same old message (no update)
      Checked AVM next day(08/03/01) evening -- AVM got updated for me, whereas for my family it had same old message.

      Received the courtesy copy of approval for all of us on 08/03/01

Called IIO on 8/7/01, was told that my case is approved on 8/7/01. checked the AVM at night which was updated.
