Which Visa do I need?

Hi guys,

Thanks for any input on this.. I'm a bit of a newbie with visas.

Basically, I'm in the Uk, born 'n' bread.. And just graduated from University.

I would like to, if possible, spend a few (2-6) months in the US, mostly California, to learn more about wine.. grape production etc.. Hopefully attending some evening classes and day/week courses etc. To aid my application for a 'graduate program' to a major wine retailer here in the UK.

But I will need to work to support myself... so I'm utterly perplexed as to whether I need a tourist visa, work visa, study visa (although the 'study' courses will be numerous and short I imagine)

Could anyone throw some light on my options??

I would advise you to initially visit California as a tourist (visa waiver program) and find out what courses/programs you can enroll in. Then you can return to the UK, seek admission into those institutions and enter the US as a student on an F-1.
