HI FRIENDS,

As all know all PD are Current..

I replied to my I-140 RFE, which may take some months to get final answer.
I choose for Counselar Processing

If I continue CP, then :
1] How much time approximate will take to get GC?
2] What are steps to get GC?
3] I can work without H1 visa only and only If I get GC, RIGHT ?

OR IF I go for EAD then :
1] How much time approximate will take to get GC ?
2] What are steps to get GC ?
3] If I file for EAD then I would get EAD within how much time ?

thank you for your help.

I found this link for CP ... perhaps this would provide the answers. Please note that CP is useful only if you are sure that your PD will not retrogress. For example if someone from India opts for CP in July and the PD get retrogressed the candidate have to wait for his turn till the PD become current again. Moreover EAD, AC21 and Advanced Parole is not available with CP.

June, July will experiece a huge upsurge in I-485, EAD filing - so it is difficult to predict processign times. We can get an idea of processing trend (by RD or PD) after a couple of months.

Thank you for your kind help.

Info you gave me for CP is really good.

So, looks like if If keep going with CP then it will take around another 8-12 months to get GC.

And, If I apply for EAD on july, then :
- Can I work independently from july, 2007 itself ?
-what do you think how much time will take to get GC.

thank you,

In order to start working, you have to wait till EAD get approved. According to the USCIS processing times this takes 3 months (approx).
Typically I-485 approval takes longer than CP (provided PDs remain current) - but this is only statistical ... probably less people opt for CP (this is my guess). CP or I-485 processing depends on various factor, PD being current, amount of workload (which will be high), case complexity etc.
