Which documents does a US sponsor for F1 need?

There is form 134 Affidavit of support.

Which other documents are needed? Do the income and assets shown need to correspond with the fees listed on the I-20?

Relative has been issued an I-20 for a doctoral program, it says "Sponsor in US" for funds.

Bank statement and other liquid assets

Along with I-134 you can have bank statements, stock/funds invtmts, etc. I-20 are normally for 1 academic year (showing all expenses), depending on the future coursework to be completed you may need to show 1 year or more of funding for the student.
