Where to Interview and differences between embassies.

Hi guys,

Where does a person have the interview for the DV visa? In the country of residence or in the country of birth?

I was born in Albania but I live in an EU country. I have both the Albanian and the other EU's country citizenship.

The embassy in Tirana asks for a I-134 form affidavit of support but the other embassy in the EU doesn't specify that.

Theres no need to create separate threads for each DV based questions you have. By the way, you should actually wait to be selected first, there will be plenty of time to fully learn the process once you’re a selectee.

Ok. I wanted to know beforehand because I don't think I'll have an I-134 form. I prefer to know the process in advance, that's the kind of person I am.

I get the desire to know so much in advance, however like I said before you’ll have plenty of time to figure things out if you’re selected. Registration period for DV 2021 hasn’t even opened, talkless of selectees being announced.

I hope so. I'm scared of panicking later if I get selected because I'm someone that if I don't know stuff before, I'm probably going to faint if I get there lol

I'm trying since 2009 , so do not panic !!! If you are selected , probably you interview will be in the country where you live now. In another forum there was a girl from Albania who live in Italy and her interview was in Italy.

Ah ok. That's good. I asked because different embassies ask for different documents and Tirana is a mess.

Well in Albania a lot of people don't know very well the procedure. Some people choose to do the interview on their home country because they need more documents from there . If you come in Italy at very young age(under 14 e never live in Albania for more than 6 month) you will need from Albania only the birth certificate or if you have Italian citizenship and make the correct transcription of you birth certificate (with your parents name on it) maybe you can use the extract one (not sure about these) but you need to worry about this when you will win . Make sure you have the all the requirements first ( high school degree or work) , do not make double entry . Check very well all information before submit

Yes I do have the Italian citizenship. But I'd still use the birth certificate from Albania. Tirana is weird lol, they even want people to mail them their original school diplomas. I've not been in Albania for more than 6 months but I'd still get a police certificate because how can you prove that you haven't lived there for more than 6 months? The officer may as well not believe you. Better safe than sorry lol
