I just filled for I 485. Can you guys tell me how do I get A#? Is it on the recipt of I 485 application. Also My lawyer tells me that it will take 60 days to get a recipt and only after that I can apply for EAD and AP. Please help.
Your lawyer doesn\'t know what he is talking about!
He should have filed for your AP and EAD at the time of filing your 485. Get rid of this guy. You don\'t have to wait to get the 485 receipt.
The A# will be on your receipt.
If you have not filed EAD & AP along with the 485 application, it is better to wait till you get the 485 receipt (2-3 months) before sending your EAD and AP.
Moreover, you can send the EAD and AP yourself without the help of the lawyer.
