Where to file?

Hi guys,

I just have a quick question. It might seem weird but I'll explain the need for the question. Where do I send my package if I'm sending it from New York?

The reason I asked is because when I was in the process of getting my green card we had a lawyer so he took care of everything. Now I've decided to do my citizenship myself, and after filling out all the forms and gathering paperwork, and reading this forum, I became confused as to where to send it.

My instinct is telling me that it should be sent to the Vermont Service Center but I see people from New York sending theirs to the Texas Service Center or elsewhere. I assumed where you send it depends on where you live. That's what I gathered from the USCIS website. But now I'm totally confused.

I hope someone can help. Seems simple enough but who wants to mess up when it comes to immigration lol.

I think it very clear in the n-400 instructions. New York Residents send it to the Dallas Lockbox facility. Do you not see it?

If you google where to file n400 application, there are only 2 places - phoenix and dallas. Your instinct is wrong. It is out dated. Your center is Lock box at Dallas, TX

bye

For immigration related matters, instinct is not what you should be counting on, but rather facts!! Go to www.uscis.gov, there's a ton of information including the guide to naturalization. Read all the material; you will be armed with all the facts you will need for this process.

All your replies are greatly appreciated.

Glad to know I didn't rely on my instincts and had the good sense to ask. The replies made me go over my paperwork to make sure I didn't miss anything since I obviously missed where it told me where to send it.

Thank goodness for this forum.

Once again, thanks.
