Hi guys, I have just reached my 150 days of waiting for an interview in Anaheim office, and my lawyer filed my EAD application to California Service Center in Laguna Niguel, but later I saw that the EAD applications from California should be filed to USCIS Phoenix Lockbox. I asked about it my lawyer, but he says that everything is ok ad we filed to the correct place, but any way I would like to hear from people who already filed and got approved in Los Angeles. Dear friends, to where did you file your EAD application based on pending asylum application from Los Angales.

Thanks in advance.

You should file here

USCIS Phoenix Lockbox
For U.S. Postal Service (USPS) deliveries:

USCIS
PO Box 21281
Phoenix, AZ 85036

For Express mail and courier deliveries:

USCIS
Attn: AOS
1820 E. Skyharbor Circle S
Suite 100
Phoenix, AZ 85034

I also wrote this on the USCIS website, but my lawyer filed to Laguna Niguel and says that he did right. So in these days I should receive either my receipt from the USCIS or my package back with a note to send to the correct address. I wouldn't emulate my lawyer if my package comes back.

P.S. He also says, that he filed applications of his other clients to that address and they got their work permits.

I don;t know, may be where he filed that office automatically transfers to appropriate offices, USCIS website says it quite precisely where to file.

Maybe, I know that it is clearly mentioned in the website, but he is too persistent, I can't convince him anything. And this isn't the only problem, I have recently found out, that there are a few mistakes in my asylum application, like my wife's maiden name wasn't mentioned there, there is an error of a date in my declaration and he put the answer "NO" for the question number 1.a. in Part B of my application and I think that it should be Yes but not NO. He says that its correct, but I don't think so. Anyway I am already so tired waiting for my interview date, that I don't care about anything any more....

For California resident,
You should file to the Phoenix lockbox,
which then will forward your application to USCIS Laguna Niguel office.
(but I suspect the initial data entry is done in the Phoenix office,
while the checking of the rest of the application eligibility/document and other process where done at Laguna Niguel).
once Laguna Niguel accept your application, if you have problem then you can wrote/correspondence (about EAD)
directly to Laguna Niguel.

now, maybe your lawyer want to make it faster and apply directly to Laguna Niguel,
I don't know whether you can do this or not though...
but if you don't get any EAD receipt in about 2 to 3 weeks after your laywer apply,
then you should contact Laguna Niguel office with written letter, ask for the status of your EAD application.

Dear friends

Even though I was thinking that we filed our EAD application to a wrong address, i got the receipts of my and my wife's applications from the USCIS california service center today. They are pending as of January 6.

That's great! I guess your lawyer had the experience to file the EAD application to the same place before your case. Good luck.
