Where can we find statistics for Dv-08?

New Member
I mean how many people applied, how many people from each country actually got the visa and how many total visas were issued?

--------------------> 2009--------------------------------->
the year more than 9,100,000 people applied through the state department web site. The computer selected nearly 99,600 winners and they were notified as winners and they can apply for an immigrant visa. Those 50,000 winners who meet the legibility will be issued with visas from October 2008 to 30th September 2009.
Winners who are in the USA legally may contact the USICS to change their status; it must be done within this period.

Here are country names and their statistical breakdown by foreign-state chargeability of those registered for the DV-2009 program.

Diversity Visa Lottery 2008 (DV-2008) Results

The Kentucky Consular Center in Williamsburg, Kentucky has registered and notified the winners of the DV-2008 diversity lottery. The diversity lottery was conducted under the terms of section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and makes available *50,000 permanent resident visas annually to persons from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. Approximately 96,000 applicants have been registered and notified and may now make an application for an immigrant visa. Since it is likely that some of the first *50,000 persons registered will not pursue their cases to visa issuance, this larger figure should insure that all DV-2008 numbers will be used during fiscal year 2008 (October 1, 2007 until September 30, 2008).

Applicants registered for the DV-2008 program were selected at random from over 6.4 million qualified entries received during the 60-day application period that ran from 12:00 AM on October 4, 2006, until midnight, December 3, 2006. The visas have been apportioned among six geographic regions with a maximum of seven percent available to persons born in any single country. During the visa interview, principal applicants must provide proof of a high school education or its equivalent, or show two years of work experience in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience within the past five years. Those selected will need to act on their immigrant visa applications quickly. Applicants should follow the instructions in their notification letter and must fully complete the information requested.

Registrants living legally in the United States who wish to apply for adjustment of their status must contact the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services for information on the requirements and procedures. Once the total *50,000 visa numbers have been used, the program for fiscal year 2008 will end. Selected applicants who do not receive visas by September 30, 2008 will derive no further benefit from their DV-2008 registration. Similarly, spouses and children accompanying or following to join DV-2008 principal applicants are only entitled to derivative diversity visa status until September 30, 2008.

Only participants in the DV-2008 program who were selected for further processing have been notified. Those who have not received notification were not selected. They may try for the upcoming DV-2009 lottery if they wish. The dates for the registration period for the DV-2009 lottery program will be widely publicized during August 2007.

* The Nicaraguan and Central American Relief Act (NACARA) passed by Congress in November 1997 stipulated that up to 5,000 of the 55,000 annually-allocated diversity visas be made available for use under the NACARA program. The reduction of the limit of available visas to 50,000 began with DV-2000.

The following is the statistical breakdown by foreign-state chargeability of those registered for the DV-2008 program:

La1, thank you so much for the statistics, but what i am specifically looking for is: The number of people from Bangladesh who got a chance to interview in DV-08 (out of about 6,000 cases) and how many of them were actually issued visas. Do you have any idea where to find that?

hallo darkhorse ,

read page # 5 and you will finde it

6000*1/2=3000

i have anther informations but i do not finde it in my laptop ,i will search for it in week end and i will send it to you!

hallo darkhorse,

I have found some of the informtions, however the best information i have not found it . i hope that the informations will be useful for you.

Wow, thanks ALG2USA. There sure is a lot of information in there, but it's so damn confusing. Wonder who prepared this document though, someone here or the authorities and if someone here did, where did they get all that data?

hi
last year before getting my visa i retrieved all visa bulletin from state.gov website and save them in tables to get a statistical vision on what happened last ten years

all data are right elses some insignifiant omission

i searched and i did'nt found it so i made it ,it's for all interested

visa ok in dv before 2007 are from state.gov bulettin

visa ok in dv 2008 and 2009 are previsional , nearest future official results

this year cut off evolution is so good, congratulation for all

DIEU merci, PREMIER DERNIER et SEUL DECIDEUR

GOD thanks, FIRST LAST and ALONE DECISION MAKER

Whatever it is, you must have put in a lot of effort to get that done, dumb me, didnt realize that it was you who prepared it. Thanks buddy!!!

I still have s few questions though.

First, i think the cutoff for a country is not absolute, I mean I have seen countries getting more than 3,500 visas in one single year. I think, the per country limit is probably 3850(7% of 55,000). Still not sure, confused about this.

Second, the question that keeps bugging me is, why don't they use up all the 50,000 visas -- they should do it by law. And again, does NACARA use up all 5,000 visas, don't think so, and the left over numbers should be given to DV. And again, in a year after the NACARA was enacted, probably in the early 2000's, i think in a year, the number of visa allocation was more than 50,000. Don't know what to make of that?

Third, what kind of mathematical or statistical method do you use for forecasting?

Fourth, what do you think about the numbering system for Asia this time. (Highest numbers in the range of 40K)

Fifth, What do VisaOk and (FY2K8-2K LOT 2K7) mean? Why do you use these numbers like 53,33,1,11,51,26?

Sixth, why does not Bangladesh have a separate cutoff number?

you are so smart , thanks for your analyse

5000 OF 55000 ARE RESERVED FOR SPECIAL FORIENG ALIEN IN ARMY SO MAYBE 7% OF 50000

NOT FINISHING 50000 IS A TIME QUESTION AND EMBASSY ABILITY

FOR 12 YEARS I SUPPOSED AN AVERAGE BUT FOR THESES YEARS EUROPEAN ARE NOT SO INTERSTED BECAUSE THIERS COUNTRIES ARE MORE OPORTUN

FOR FOURTH QUESTION I THINK THAT KCC COUNT ALL FUTURE POSSIBLE GREEN CARD HOLDER SO FOR ALL MARIED WINNER THEY GROW CN BY TWO ONE FOR THE WINNER AND THE SECOND FOR HIS WIFE OR HUSBAND MAKING CN GROW BY 50% MIN, ANOTHER THING IS EMPTY CASES THAT I DID NOT UNDERSTAND HOW USED

VISAOK IN BLACK ARE OFFICIAL ELSE IN RED ARE PREVISIONAL

FY2K8 FISCAL YEAR 2008 FOR DV2007 OF WINNER LOT

53,33,1,11,51,26 ARE NUMBERS OF ELLIGIBLES COUNTRIES

BANGLADESH NEVER GOT LIMITED CUTOFF

I AM HAPPY FOR YOUR INTEREST . GOOD LUCK

DIEU merci, PREMIER DERNIER et SEUL DECIDEUR

GOD thanks, FIRST LAST and ALONE DECISION MAKER
