Sorry, this may be explained somewhere that I haven't found (I tried different searches but couldn't find anything): as you can see on my timeline, I submitted form I-751 and received my biometrics appt date (already happened) and then a Request for Evidence stating that although we submitted most of the documents they had listed as required, we hadn't proved that our marriage was in good faith.
We were provided another list with documents suggested such as loan/mortgage joint documents, joint credit cards, birth certificates of children, etc etc.
My husband (the US citizen) and I are VERY happily married, but because we married 'old' or 'not so young' I chose not to take his name (I have a scientific career under my maiden name and didn't want to have issues with that), we chose to keep our own medical insurance benefits (we were both doing fine in our respective jobs), we have our own bank accounts (although we pay everything evenly, always) and we do not have children. Perfect recipe for a marriage in good faith to be doubted. However, I think I did a good job of compiling other evidence: I did have my Accidental Death and Dismemberment Policy with him as my sole beneficiary, we have some joint car and renter's insurance documents that I added to what we already had sent before, I sent little blurbs of our trips with our families with pictures and copies of snail mail envelopes addressed to both of us in the last years, among other things. I am hoping that what we sent will be enough to fulfill the requirements but now I want to check the status of my case and I can't seem to find where or what receipt number to use.
If I go to the USCIS case status website
https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do
and I use the receipt number from the latest document I received (the RFE), I get the error message "My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered."
I checked the same site using previous receipt numbers (for my employment card, for the green card itself, for the original response to the I-751 submission) and it shows the correct status for each: that the cards had been mailed and for the I-751 original submission it states:
"On March 27, 2015, we received your Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, Receipt Number WAC1512050366, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by April 26, 2015, "
This is old news now, since I got those instructions and followed them.
Can I assume that my latest receipt number is not in the system because it's only been a few days since the deadline?
Or, what other receipt number should I be looking at?
Thanks.
