When using re-entry permit, must your port of entry be close to your mailing address?

Hi,

I have re-entry permit and have been out more than a year and 9 months. I plan to head back to my residence in Chicago soon, but I would like to stop to SF for a couple weeks along my way back.

Does is matters where your port of entry is, when using re-entry permit? Is it important to have your port of entry or final flight destination, closer to your home mailing address? I don't want to have problem entering US if I plan for a short trip to SF.

Please advise.

The U.S. is the U.S. and POE is irrelevant.
